Ever wonder what it was like to travel across the country in the comfort and luxury of an old Pullman Palace Car? Well, here’s your opportunity to experience cross-country rail travel in a midcentury Pullman car—the Pullman cars that made George Pullman immensely wealthy and helped create the country’s first factory town.
Starting December 29, Pullman Rail Journeys will be leading a number of passengers to New York via Pullman cars to celebrate the new year in the Big Apple. Passengers will spend three nights at the art deco Roosevelt Hotel and then be treated with a dinner party atop of the Marriott Marquis in Times Square for New Year’s Eve. The journey and celebration won’t be cheap however.
The full five-night package for the rail trip and stay in New York starts at $5,770. However, for those interested in history, classic architecture, and rail travel, this could be the most perfect New Year’s celebration.
